In 2016, the theme was the Viking invasion and all the 12 carvers created characters and objects that would come together and form a huge scene of attack and pillage.
I carved at huge towering Viking invader with a flaming torch ready to burn down a monastery. A monk fallen to his knees in protest prays for divine protection.
The location is Blockhausen about 40km southwest of Dresden. Blockhausen displays the carvings of the past 14 years of events! It must surely be the greatest collection of chainsaw art on this planet.
